Author
I’m a travel writer from Siberia
Got1Try.com is my archive from the road. Here I collect stories from different journeys in diary form: day by day, without polishing them up. On one level, it is a way to preserve what I have lived through. On another, it is a chance to show the world as I see it on the road.
Idea

Anyone who already knows my routes might ask: why take such risks? Why cross half the world by hitchhiking, go deep into West Papua or paddle down the Amazon in a handmade canoe? Is it right to risk your own life when you only have one?
The paradox is that this very thought was what pushed me out the door. I began to trust people more often, to say yes to the unknown more often, and to move farther away from the familiar world. When I understood that I had only one try, I began to live.
That is how the road began. Then came the diaries. And the Got1Try blog.
Talks
I’m more of an introvert — yes, really — but sometimes my diaries leave the website and find their way into schools, universities, companies and public venues in different cities.
At these talks, I speak about the road, fear, mistakes, trust and a dream that one day became an ordinary day of travel. Most often, I talk about the Amazon: 67 days in a handmade canoe, jungle, current, solitude, an encounter with pirates and a route that once seemed almost impossible.
If you would like to organise a talk, you can write to me.
